Lighting Review

Overview

Equipment 4 Retail were asked to support Homebase with their 2016 Lighting Review. We were able to convert the lighting departments within 140 Stores across UK and Ireland with new lighting ranges  changed across Pendants, Wall, Spots, Bath, Flush and Shades. Whilst some existing metalwork and electric track systems were re-used, all old style format displays and boards were removed and new light models assembled and fitted using new Bunnings equipment and planograms.

Our Involvement

After gathering a full understanding of the project and completing trial stores, We carefully briefed our installers ensuring specific equipment knowledge, build and safe working practices. We ensured the Electrics at all Homebase lighting departments were isolated as part of the supported works prior to rollout. We also managed up to 20 teams to complete the changes, provided full Project Management support, communications with stores and Homebase Project Lead Managers including pre calls, daily updates, equipment consolidation and reports.

Benefits

By using Equipment 4 Retail mean that with our extensive Project Management, Skilled Installers and nationwide support distributing equipment amonst others, allowed us to ensure detailed signoffs were attained. Another element was able Night and Day shifts were in operation to ensure completion of the review which allowed stores to trade.

Overall Result

Equipment 4 Retail has continually continually delivered retail standards as per Homebase expectations and throughout the lighting transition provided robust reporting that was paramount to plan each stage of the review and gave confidence and reliability to the client.

Bulb Review

Overview

Following the Homebase Lighting Review, Equipment 4 Retail were further asked to support another review in-store, The Light Bulb Review. Equipment 4 Retails were tasked to re-merchandise the footages in Stores across the UK. A Larger number of New Light Bulb ranges and packaging were introduced to compliment amongst others the newly installed lighting ranges. 

Our Involvement

Equipment 4 Retail supplied professional Retail Merchandising Teams to implement the new BULB planogram changes, adding in new lines whilst systematically organising overs and discontinued products. In total 145 stores were re-merchandised over a three week period ensuring all products were displayed to plane, stock was rotated for new packaging and throughout a high standard of compliance and cleanliness was achieved. Equipment 4 Retail provided full reporting and managed the merchandising plans for Equipment 4 Retail teams at respective stores.

Benefits

Using Equipment 4 Retail meant that with our extensive Project Management, proficient and friendly merchandising teams the stores could concentrate on their day to day tasks.  After an initial introduction with store and colleagues our teams worked un-aided.  Layouts were implemented to plan and changes made in a clean and tidy work area and whilst assisting customers and staff changes were carried out safely during the trading day.  Final signoff with multiple images and robust handover concluded every store.

Overall Result

Equipment 4 Retail completed the works within the 3 weeks allocated for the review and within budget providing daily feedback and support to stores and the Homebase Project Team.
